For salon and service owners in Malaysia
DuitNow and e-wallet at the counter, on your own terms.
Customers in Malaysia expect to scan and pay. Owners expect to keep the bank account, the terminal, and the settlement they already trust. Kipas is built on the second expectation: it records how the money moved and never touches the money itself. This page shows what that looks like for DuitNow and e-wallet at a salon counter.
Kipas records the tender; your bank moves the money
Every sale is settled as Cash, Card, E-Wallet, or a split of those. Card and e-wallet money arrives through your own terminal or provider exactly as it does today. Kipas writes down which tender was used, so revenue by tender is right at closing and on every report, and it stays out of the transaction itself.
The static DuitNow QR
The owner uploads the business's static DuitNow QR once, in Settings under Payments. At the counter, staff choose E-Wallet, open Show DuitNow QR, and let the customer scan. The customer pays your bank directly.
Staff then confirm the payment after checking the business bank or provider app, the same check they do today. Kipas displays the QR and records the confirmed tender; it does not verify the payment or reconcile settlement, and it says so plainly. The QR is not offered for split payments or in the public demo workspaces.
Split payments that balance themselves
When a customer pays part in cash and part by e-wallet, tap Split and enter the amounts. Fill RM drops the remaining balance into a row for you, the screen shows short or over until the parts equal the total, and checkout refuses an unbalanced split. The receipt says exactly how it was paid.
Receipts that say how it was paid
The PDF receipt lists what each tender covered when a sale used more than one, so a customer can check the card line against their statement. The prepared WhatsApp receipt carries the receipt number, items, total, and payment method, and staff send it from the business number. Email receipts follow the same rules when customer emails are on.
Closing by tender
Daily closing shows the day's takings by Cash, Card, and E-Wallet, refunds by tender, and package credit used as a separate informational line. The cash count is compared with expected cash and the difference is recorded with who closed. E-wallet totals are what you reconcile against your provider's settlement the next morning.
Open the demo salon, take a walk-in sale as E-Wallet, then split the next one between cash and card. Fictional data, resets every day.
